In November, our toddlers are learning about David. Our Bible story can be found at 1 Samuel 16:14-23. This month our toddlers will:
-learn that David was a shepherd boy who wrote songs to praise and thank God.
-learn that David used his music to make King Saul feel better
-praise God with music (we’ll be making our own instruments)
-find many opportunities and ways to say “Thank you, God.”

Our preschool/early elementary room teaches with a lectionary based curriculum so children in that room will be learning the same lessons as moms and dads in church.

Our Sunday morning classes are collecting money for Nothing but Nets. Nothing But Nets is a global campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Every $10 we donate can buy a bed net to protect a child and his or her family in Africa. There is more information about Nothing But Nets on the Children’s Programs bulletin board at the back of the sanctuary. Parents, please send in money for our offering as you are able to. We've spent some time talking about how every penny helps so I'm sure your littles ones would be happy with just a penny or two.

Welcome to Christ 1st's newest blog!

We'll use this blog to keep everyone up to date about our children's Christian education programs. I'll try to post the memory verse every week so if you miss church, your child can still learn the verse for the next week. I'll also try to post who will be teaching and shepherding each week.

Wow! This was a great week with our kids at Christ 1st United Methodist Church. We had about 10 children at the Inspire program on Wednesday evening, 14 children in Sunday School at 10:30 today and 12 children during Children's Church at 11:30 today. It was great to see a few new faces!

Our memory verse to be learned for Sunday, October 25:
Share what you have. Hebrews 13:16

Sunday, October 25th Volunteers:
Sunday School - 10:30: Teacher - Debbi G, Shepherd - Amy W
Children's Church - 11:30: Toddler Teacher - Debbie T, Shepherd - Rebecca M
Preschool Teacher - Wendy T, Shepherd - Erika B
Nursery Volunteer - ?

We are still looking for teachers for the toddler room and the preschool room the 2nd Sunday of every month. We have curriculum for both rooms - you don't need to "make up" the lessons. We also need volunteers to help our nursery attendant the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month. Please contact Amy Wright at 376-2651 or lawright@mtaonline.net if you'd like to help or if you have any questions.

Have a great week and see you next Sunday!
-Amy
